Artist’s Statement:
In this artwork, the perspective shifts from the horizon to the heavens. Above the Blue Darkness explores the concept of the “internal sanctuary”—a home that exists not just on a mountain peak, but within the spirit.
The circular composition serves as a celestial lens, focusing on a solitary house amidst the vast, abstract mystery of the cosmos. Through a palette of deep cobalt and radiant gold, I have sought to portray the duality of the human experience: the “Blue Darkness” of the unknown and the “Golden Rays” of hope and belonging.
The thick, impasto texture gives the light a physical weight, suggesting that the “light we carry” is not a fleeting thought, but a tangible, permanent force. It is the light that guides us back to ourselves when the world feels vast and dark. This painting is a tribute to the resilience of the soul and the warmth of the home we build within.
